IndustrialValveSelect ("we", "us") operates the website industrialvalveselect.com, a free engineering pre-selection tool for industrial valves. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have — including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is the operator of IndustrialValveSelect. You can reach us at any time at privacy@industrialvalveselect.com.

2. What we collect

When you use the selection form, your technical inputs (valve function, medium, pressure, temperature, size, medium state, shutoff requirement, end connection and operation) are processed entirely in your browser and are only transmitted if you choose to submit the contact form.

When you submit the contact form (one form, shown as "Unlock Full Report" after a pre-selection or as "Send Inquiry" on the engineering-review path), we collect:

• First name and last name
• Work email address
• Company name
• Country
• Industry (selected from a list)
• Purchase timeline (selected from a list)
• Your technical inquiry details (the operating conditions you entered and the resulting pre-selection)
• Your stated service flags — sour (NACE) service and oxygen service (the two checkboxes on the selection form)
• Technical details of the submission itself: which of our tools received it, and the date and time you submitted it.
• Your consent choice and the time it was given

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell data to data brokers.

3. Why we collect it and our legal basis

• To deliver the report or engineering answer you requested — legal basis: performance of a service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To forward your inquiry to supplier partners (valve manufacturers, primarily based in China) so they can respond with quotations — this forwarding is a step you explicitly request in order to receive quotations, i.e. a pre-contractual measure taken at your request (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR); your consent via the form checkbox (Art. 6(1)(a)) serves as an additional basis. You may withdraw consent at any time (see section 6).
• To understand your project stage and respond appropriately — we use your industry and purchase timeline to prioritize and route inquiries (e.g. active projects receive faster follow-up); this processing is based on our legitimate interest in handling requests efficiently (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and never changes the answer the tool gives you.

This website is a free tool supported by Chinese manufacturing partners. Forwarding inquiries to them is how the tool is funded, and it only happens at your request.

4. Where your data is stored

Submitted inquiries are stored in a spreadsheet hosted on Google servers (Google LLC), which may be located outside the EU/UK. Email notifications are sent through Google's email infrastructure (Google Workspace), and the site is delivered through Cloudflare. Both providers process data under their standard data processing terms. Where an inquiry is transferred to manufacturers in China, this happens only at your explicit request for that transfer.

5. How long we keep it

We keep inquiry records while we follow up on your request, and delete them when you ask (see section 6) or when the inquiry has run its course — clean-up is done by hand, not on a fixed schedule.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@industrialvalveselect.com from the address you registered with. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Withdrawal in practice: every inquiry is read personally by the operator before being forwarded to any supplier. If you withdraw before your inquiry has been forwarded, it will not be shared at all. Once an inquiry has been forwarded to a supplier, withdrawal cannot undo that specific transfer, but we will stop any further sharing and, on request, tell you which suppliers received your inquiry.

7. Cookies & analytics

This site itself sets no tracking cookies. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies required to deliver and protect the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure overall traffic — it is a cookie-free tool that does not identify individual visitors and does not track you across sites.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
