Sodium Hypochlorite Valves
Oxidiser and chloride carrier at once — lined valves are the workhorse.
Environmentally hazardous, decomposes releasing chlorine gas — tight shutoff recommended. Classic pitting agent for stainless steels and nickel alloys; titanium and fluoroplastics are the industry standard.
Service flags: toxic.

What drives the choice
- PTFE/PFA-lined valves dominate; most metals pit or degrade
- Titanium is the metal exception where linings are not wanted
- Gas off-gassing in dead legs belongs in the installation notes
Where the boundaries sit
- Concentration above the published band or elevated temperature leaves the chart
