Hydrochloric Acid Valves
One of the hardest common media — most metals lose.
Attacks ALL standard stainless steels and nickel-free alloys at any concentration. Fluoroplastics are the default economic choice.

Ratings: Excellent / Good / Conditional / Not recommended, from this site's boundary-and-medium data set. The manufacturer's data sheet for the specific product governs.
What drives the choice
- Hastelloy-class alloys or lined valves are the working answers
- Concentration and temperature both move the answer
- Never assume a stainless rating carries over from a milder acid
Where the boundaries sit
- A duty outside the published compatibility rows goes to the manufacturer, not to a guess
